For the first time, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) introduced women personnel to guide VVIPs for our country. 10 weeks of training will be organized soon to train 33 selected women personnel which will be exciting to see.

The selection process was done a few days back after the ministry of home affairs gave the approval for the program. An official communication accessed by News18 said that an action plan to increase the strength of women personnel has been submitted by the CRPF. “Initially 6 platoons of women personnel will be raised,” the communication team said.

The deployment of the women personnel has been done on the basis of requirement, but few dignitaries will keep the women personnel in the first batch, sources said. Also for the VVIP Security for the upcoming events was kept on the priority when the selection process started. Also, during the training period, women will be trained for the fire assault rifles such as AK-47s.

Sources claimed that after seeing the violence during West Bengal polls, “the job of induction of women to protect VVIPs was prioritized to time it before upcoming Uttar Pradesh elections.” During West Bengal polls and promotional events, some politician leaders including BJP President JP Nadda were attacked during roadshows and their rallies.

“The proposal was given by Director General CRPF Kuldeep Singh to Home Minister Amit Shah in a recent meeting while he was presenting details of CRPF and the immediate future plans. After getting due approval, it has been decided to induct women to guard VVIPs,” sources said.
