Will Indians lose all the accesses of using Social Media Platforms like Twitter, Facebook & Instagram? A big question raising on social sites in India.
The new rules come into effect on 26th May 2021, and according to the sources if social media companies do not follow or comply with the given guidelines, then they will be banned, and also criminal action taken as per the existing guidelines issued by the government in India.
However, except Koo App, not a single top social media company agreed on the new social media guidelines which are issued by the central government three months back. The disagreement raises very serious questions that whether these companies don’t want to agree with the new rules or not taking the government’s guidelines seriously.
As of 26th May, new rules are coming into effect, according to the sources if the top social media companies do not agree with the new guidelines then criminal action can be taken by the government, and also they will be responsible for losing their status and protections as intermediaries.
Also, sources reported that these social media companies are coming with many excuses like they need some time more to comply with new rules up to six months and some other excuse is like they are waiting to come to the instructions from the US headquarter.
As a matter of consideration is, these social media companies earn a huge profit from India, still, they are not ready to comply with the government rules and making excuses. Now the thing to see is will these social media platforms have been banned or they will comply with new guidelines which are issued by the central government.
