The 22nd edition of the Commonwealth Games was officially inaugurated at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham, England.  and this year it is going to be held from 28 July to 8 August. 'Sports for All' is the motto of the commonwealth games 2022and as its motto says The commonwealth games are a multisport event that is conducted internationally for the members of the Commonwealth and this year CWG 2022 is set to become the biggest and most expensive sporting event in the United Kingdom and Prince Charles was the chief guest at the opening ceremony. And the highlight of this season is the commonwealth games have included more medal events for women than men for the first time.

In this big event athletes from more than 72 nations and territories will take part In the Games.

in 2022 India participated with its 37-member athlete team. and The Indian team for Commonwealth Games consists of 322 members which include 72 team officials, 26 extra officials, nine contingent staff, and three general managers.

One of the most iconic highlights of Commonwealth Games 2022 is this year that Women’s cricket is making its debut in the CWG this year, through the T20s.

India's Tejaswin Shankar has become the first ever Indian to win a CWG medal in the high jump in the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022. With the win, Tejaswin opened the Indian athletics team's medal account with a Bronze and After claiming the first Gold Medal in Lawn Bowls, India bagged another Gold at the Table Tennis Final against Singapore at the Commonwealth Games 2022.

As of now, India has won 48 medals holding 4th rank globally with 17 gold 13 silver, and 19 bronze medals which were topped by Australia with 132 medals, and the host country secured 2nd rank in the event.
