End of an era: Leo Messi is not staying at Barcelona FC

A heartbreaking news for the Lionel Messi fan club who only love to see football when Messi was part of the game.

Lionel Messi is now leaving Barcelona FC after 17 successful years of his career after the Argentine superstar failed to reach an agreement on a new deal with the club, which was announced by Spanish giant. "Although an agreement has been reached between FC Barcelona and Leo Messi it cannot be formalized due to economic and structural obstacles," said a statement from the club. "Faced with this situation, Lionel Messi will not remain linked to Barcelona. Both sides deeply regret that the wishes of both the player and the club cannot come true."
 


Six-time Ballon d'Or winner Messi, 34, last month played against Brazil the team landed a major international trophy and won the Copa America. But now a doubt on his continuation with Argentina took a full stop and now as a result of not signing any new contract Messi shall not be staying at Barcelona FC.Although both parties deeply regretting that the wishes of the club and player will not be fulfilled.

Lionel Messi still will not make any public statement until there is more clarity on signing the contract, and some of that clarity should come in the form of a press conference by president Joan Laporta on Friday. According to a report Messi wants to say goodbye to his fans and wants to release a joint statement with Barça.

Messi arrived at Barcelona aged 13 & signed his first contract and made his competitive debut for Barcelona in 2004. He left after 17 successful seasons during which he won 35 titles, including four UEFA Champions League crowns, 10 La Liga titles, eight Supercopa de Espanas and.seven Copa del Reys.

Fans don't want him to leave but now it's time to say goodbye to an era.
